Chapter 17: October 1996 It was twenty years ago today . . .

It was twenty years ago today,
That I became a man (in a way).
Brother Eric and the Grands were there,
And a belly dancer nearly bare.

So may I introduce to you,
Another chapter to generate jeers,
A short poem sprung from my hand.

I studied and sung the Bereishit thing,
Which in English means, "In the beginning."

The photo albums weigh a ton,
And somehow, I don't own one.

To those of you in attendance,
Thank you for the swell presents.
To those of you I didn't then know,
I'll clue you in on the next big show.

At my Tennis Club meeting tonight,
Several aliyahs I will invite.
We won't have need for a cake,
Nor any Hebrew to be faked!

So let me remind you of,
An event that caused many tears,
Adam Brody's 13th birthday party.
