I Give Up!

Since I left MS2 four months ago, I have been watching Oprah and waiting for Dave to appear. Every day, I crafted another entry for my Oprah Log. I even went so far as to lobby one of O’s top people, who happens to work across the street from Dave. Unfortunately, all of my efforts were in vain. Dave never appeared on Oprah. Well, I give up! If Dave is not going to appear on Oprah, then I might as well go back to work.

My new employer is Trend Micro, Inc. Like all of my other recent employers, they hired me to lead their user interface design and usability efforts. They are a leading provider of anti-virus and other security software and have offices around the world. This is the smallest public company that I have joined, but it is still over 10 times larger than the largest private company for which I’ve worked. This company has real customers and real revenue and it is clear that this company has a Phase 2. I have been so busy, that I do not have time enough to play golf.

People keep telling me that they miss my missives, so I hope they enjoy this brief chapter. The reason that I have not published a chapter for several months is that I tend to do most of my writing while daydreaming in meetings, and since I do not attend that many meetings at my new job, I have not had that much time to write. I will have to find other times to get my work done. Until then, following is the list of stories currently featured in my jukebox. Since I may never have enough time to formally write these, feel free to request one when you see me.

Thanks for playing!
Adam
